- What is sinusitis?
Sinusitis means the lining of your sinuses are inflamed. Sometimes a cold can become acute sinusitis, a bacterial infection. Usually, there are the uncomfortable symptoms of facial pressure and nasal obstruction.

Symptoms include:

- How is sinusitis diagnosed?
Your doctor will diagnose your sinusitis based on your symptoms and examining your nose and face. If you have chronic sinusitis your doctor may order a CT scan (computerized tomography). A CT will show your doctor if you have chronic sinusitis.
- What are the treatment options for sinusitis?
Treatment options include antibiotics, decongestants, and pain relievers. If you’re experiencing chronic sinusitis your doctor will consider medication or surgery for treatment options.
- What will happen if my sinusitis goes untreated?
